Guadalupe Island is so much more than a shark destination, it is a true experience that will be remembered for a lifetime. Sharks are the focus of your journey, but MV Horizon's staff will introduce you to many other aspects of Guadalupe's aquatic and terrestrial ecosystem.

But let's get to the focus, your introduction to the sharks. As we've found over our 9 years of shark experiences at Guadalupe, these animals have very individual personalities and character traits. Now, you probably are thinking that we are nuts. Sharks have personality? Yes - they do.

With this in mind, the mindless killer that so many of us have grown up fearing has and is a thinking animal that learns and adapts to it's surroundings. Our affiliation with research - Mexico's CICIMAR and the United States, Marine Science Conservation Institute, will offer scientific insite. You are also involved in research as science needs your underwater photographs to ID new and existing animals in order to keep an up to date catalog of all the sharks that annually visit Isla Guadalupe.

Day to Day Itinerary:

Day 1: San Diego Departure
Welcome aboard, your Guadalupe Island adventure starts here! The crew will show you to your accommodations and get you settled in to your home away from home. 

Ships orientation and departure. Guadalupe Island, here we come!

Days 2 - 4: Isla Guadalupe
Welcome to the "Island of the Great White Sharks", Guadalupe Island!

The cages are deployed by 7:00am with shark viewing to follow for the entire day. You may take a break at lunch, depending on the mornings viewing activity and will stop sharking between 5:00 and 6:00pm each day. With a small group of shark divers aboard, 1/2 of the divers are in and 1/2 half of the divers are out of the water on 1 hour rotations that will last until late afternoon.

On day 4 we pack up and head north after dinner. Adios Isla Guadalupe!

Day 5 San Diego
You'll arrive in to San Diego late afternoon where we will facilitate your transportation to local accommodations or the airport.
