Trip leader and experienced Baja naturalist, John Kipping, will lead you on an amazing 775 mile voyage along the Baja peninsula departing from San Diego, California and concluding at the tip of the Baja peninsula, Cabo San Lucas.

You will have the opportunity to explore two of Baja's desert island oases above and below the water plus three days with the whales of San Ignacio Lagoon and finally two days in the biologically diverse Bahia Magdalena.

John will lead daily hikes along with offering nightly presentations to summarize the days activities and to enlighten you as to what will be happening the following day. The staff of M/V Horizon will assist and lead kayak tours along with snorkel and dive tours.

Scuba Divers and snorkelers: Divemastered dives will be available, but you may dive as you like with light diving offered at Islas San Benito, Isla San Martin and Isla Cedros. Unfortunately, diving is not permitted in the lagoon. You will encounter temperate California and tropical Baja fish species along with California sea lions, Guadalupe fur seals and possibly Northern Elephant seals. The kelp forests of Isla San Martin and Islas San Benito are some of the best in the world!

Snorkeling will be offered at the same islands and will provide wonderful opportunities to interact with California sea lions, Guadalupe fur seals and possibly Northern elephant seals. The kelp forests of these destinations are full of temperate fish life and are a wonderful experience.

Kayaking:
Kayak with the sea lions and fur seals of Islas San Benito or view the amazing elephant seal haul out beaches of Isla Cedros!

Horizon will be outfitted with sit on top kayaks and will offer instruction for new kayakers.
